Cosplay Masquerade

Cosplay Masquerade at the J-TSOON is a beginner-friendly event that invites cosplayers of all levels to showcase their creative costumes on stage. This is the perfect opportunity for those who wish to experience the thrill of performing without the pressure of competing in the main competition. The masquerade will have its own panel of judges, and up to 100 participants will compete for the top 3 spots. Showcase your creativity and impress the judges to earn a place among the best!

Cosplay Masquerade Rules:

Beginner-Friendly: This competition is for any participants who don’t wish to compete in the main competition but want to showcase their costumes on stage.
Participation: Performers can go on stage alone or with a group of up to 8 people.
Restriction: Participants in the main competition are not allowed to enter the Masquerade competition.
Stage Time: Performers will have 15 seconds on stage to showcase their costume, keeping it short and sweet.
Registration: Registration for the Masquerade is open on both event days at the Cosplay Desk.
Availability: This event is exclusively available on Day 2 (Sunday) of the event.
Music: The music for the Masquerade will be chosen by cosplay organizers on the day of the event.

Judging Criteria:

Participants will be evaluated based on the following categories:

Character Portrayal: How well the participant embodies and represents the chosen character. This includes accuracy, expressions, and overall presentation.
Creativity: The originality, uniqueness, both handmade and store-bought costumes are welcome. We’re looking for a surprising twist, a bold concept, or an attention-grabbing stage presence — something that leaves the audience go “wow”!
Stage Presence & Performance: Confidence, energy, and engagement with the audience. Even a simple stage walk can leave a lasting impression!

The judges will score each participant based on these criteria, and the top 3 performers who stand out the most will be awarded.

This event is designed to celebrate the creativity and effort of all cosplayers, providing a supportive and fun environment. Whether you are new to cosplay or simply want to enjoy the stage without the competitive element, the Cosplay Masquerade is your chance to shine!
